Artist statement

I look at my works as windows through which I see my imagined self surrounded by lush green leaves, water lilies, and small, colourful creatures in the middle of dreamlike landscapes where individuals are not bound to their gender roles as determined by society at large. This is a world where a person's identity is not limited to their anatomy or sexuality but defined by their intrinsic, instinctive femininity and their inalienable connection to the divine. I believe a better world is possible if only we return to nature and let it heal us. I consciously use this belief to create spaces that I hope will help others feel the same peacefulness and connect with their own feelings of joy, stillness, and contentment. When people look at my work, this is what I hope they will see — that despite what else happens, there is still love, hope, and happiness in the world.
