Artist statement
My work addresses society’s indifference towards women and the environment. I draw parallels between the two through the lens of the passage of time. By bringing discarded materials like tree bark, paper, and textile scraps into work often replicating the female form, I reference shedding, uncovering, revealing, rebirth and transformation. My multidisciplinary practice seeks to nurture rejuvenation of the fraying relationships among humans and the natural world.
