Lives and works in Odawara, Kanagawa, Japan

Artist statement

I am interested in quiet moments that resist simple explanation. My work moves through nocturnal streets, moonlit water, distant lights, and imagined landscapes. I often return to places where very little appears to be happening: a street after rain, a path leading toward a sleeping village, moonlight reflected across water, or a city that seems to hold traces of those who have passed through it. These scenes allow me to think about emotions that are often difficult to put into words. Rather than trying to provide an answer, I use images to remain with uncertainty. Light may suggest reassurance, but it can also reveal distance. Silence can feel peaceful, while still containing memory, hesitation, or something left unsaid. In some works, thin geometric lines and rectangular forms enter the landscape, creating a quiet tension between organic atmosphere and constructed space. My process combines digital image-making with generative AI as a creative tool. I work through repeated direction, selection, rejection, revision, and sequencing rather than treating an initial generated image as a finished work. The concept, atmosphere, composition, selection, refinement, and final presentation are shaped through my own artistic decisions. I am particularly interested in how emerging image-making tools can be guided by individual memory, judgment, and intention. Across these works, I continue to return to the same question: how can an image hold a feeling without explaining it completely?
