Artist statement

Talyn Edelson is an interdisciplinary artist whose practice transmutes psychological environments into surrealist visual art, music, performance, and narrative concepts. Often guided by Salvador Dalí’s paranoiac-critical method, her work frequently utilizes subconscious creation as a cathartic mechanism to process and overcome trauma and abuse while. encouraging others to do the same. Spanning mixed media, music, moving image, and screen storytelling, her work bridges raw physical embodiment with subconscious and psychological exploration. By creating unfiltered content that rejects rigid social conformity, I invite audiences into complex inner landscapes. I believe that radical artistic expression and authentic creation is the primary vehicle through which we process trauma, heal ourselves, and ultimately make the world a better place.
