Artist statement
Working across sculpture, installation, performance, and sound, I bring industrial and organic materials into unstable relationships. Wool, clay, metal, technological remnants, electromagnetic recordings, mirrors, and 3D-printed forms carry pressure, memory, and transformation. The body is rarely represented directly, but remains present through imprint, repetition, weight, resistance, and touch. In Time Moving Backwards Meets Time Moving Forward, casts of escalator steps form spinal structures between machine, architecture, and anatomy. An infrastructure designed to regulate movement becomes bodily and unstable—a speculative fossil of the present. Through a form of reverse archaeology, contemporary technologies are approached as future ruins, suspended between industrial progress, bodily memory, and imagined futures. In Feral Archives, 3D printing becomes a technospiritual ritual: digital information is translated into clay and gradually absorbed by the forest. Leaves are embedded into the wet layers, inscribing the site into the technological process. Left unfired, the structures collapse into the soil, carrying traces of code into another materiality and temporality. I am drawn to the point at which the artificial begins to behave as though it were alive. Matter is never inert: it registers extraction, labour, touch, environmental conditions, and historical violence, while retaining the capacity to enter new relations.
