Lives and works in Tbilisi, Georgia

Artist statement

My working mediums are painting and installation that explore urban, cultural and political issues .The urban landscape in the city's current state and the eclectic cultural and ideological codes. In installations I use building materials, by integrating these materials, I aim to create environments that feel both familiar and unsettling. ‘Construction materials’ also highlights the physicality of the city—the bones and foundations on which cultures and ideologies are built. This connection to architecture reinforces the themes of identity and space, where structures serve as both shelters and barriers. Abandoned or under-construction concrete frame forms are always of great interest to me, for me it is associated with transience and the change of time and is a metaphor for how time erases everything that is passing and leaves the solidity from which we start building again. Creating a new alternative space with installations for me is also associated with the discovery of new spaces of knowledge and awareness.
