Lives and works in Los Angeles, CA

Artist statement

My work begins with the belief that imagination is not separate from reality, but one of the ways reality first takes form. I work across painting, sculpture, installation, and public space, using figures, landscapes, flowers, architecture, and symbolic objects to explore presence, memory, belief, and the possibilities contained within the present. Painting is a process of discovery. I rarely begin with a fixed image. Through dye, casein, flashe, oil, bleach, and raw canvas, forms emerge through an accumulation of decisions. The finished work becomes a record of imagination becoming matter. This process extends beyond painting. Images migrate into sculpture, architecture, murals, and public environments, allowing something initially imagined to become physically inhabitable. Across these forms, I am interested in the threshold between the visible and invisible: between memory and invention, landscape and mythology, observation and belief. I paint to make the invisible visible. Fantasy is not the opposite of reality. It is reality in its earliest form.
