Artist statement

Tristan Perrotti is a Portland-based visual artist specializing in expressionist painting, blending surreal and abstract forms to dissect classical themes and explore the nuances of his experiences. Guided and inspired by classical artists and contemporary thinkers, Tristan works to bring energy and vibrancy to his paintings. He often is curious about mapping out his internal emotional world on the canvas, exploring feelings we all have. Considering how our feelings impact our sense of our own body is a point of intense scrutiny in his work, with an emphasis often being placed on capturing energy and movement. With a strong sense of color and vibrancy, Tristan works to bring intensity to paintings and to his audience.
