Lives and works in Brooklyn, NY, USA

Artist statement

My work begins with personal photographs of ordinary domestic scenes whose emotional importance exceeds their visible content. By painting over, obscuring, and intensifying parts of those photographs, I return sustained attention to moments that photography preserved but separated me from. The resulting works examine the gap between what an image shows and what it holds privately: memory, embarrassment, attachment, frustration, and forms of domestic experience that resist idealization. Painting both protects and exposes these images, creating surfaces that unfold slowly and remain suspended between document, recollection, and revision. Received an MFA in Art Practice from the School of Visual Arts and a BFA in Fine Arts and Photography from Parsons School of Design, with additional studies in poetry at Columbia University.
