Artist statement

The sculpture is the vessel to which the idea bridges the space between ideal and real. I want to narrow the gap between the ideal and its execution. My work is a constant cycle of externalization and adaptation. A recognition of the intersectional identities, moods, and black aesthetic values that shape my reality and inform my work. I use art to process my experience with reality. I primarily focus on states of being and illustrate varying physical and mental states.
