Lives and works in Udine, Italy

Artist statement

As living beings facing the vastness and depth of the oceans is a way to reconnect with our own limited and fragile humanity. Cradled by the Mediterranean, Italy holds all the most important stages in the formation of our civilization, being the scene of the Christianization of Europe, of the struggle for the dominance of the Christian or Muslim creed, of the passage of migrations, of the international conflict as a military base. The Mediterranean in its infinite strength and imperturbability is here to tell us that the world we inhabit is not ours. The sea lives and will survive us. It will always be there as it always has been and has preceded us for millions and millions of years. What is in danger is not the "planet" but the survival of humans. There is no "planet to save" there are only humans who are doing everything to become extinct within a few hundred years. The predominance of the planet over us is clear: the Mediterranean with its large spaces, epidemics and exaggerated atmospheric events teach us the respect for the inextinguishable force of the cosmos. My art, with its white wings, would like to inspire women and men, to open within them the idea that they can be better, the ideaa that we all can elevate our way of thinking and acting for peace and equality between peoples. In my sculptures heads and bodies of disjointed children question us about our blindness, about the destiny we have designed for them and which they refuse.
