Yvette van den Boogaard
Lives and works in Unterkatz, Germany
Artist statement
Yvette's artistic journey centers on helping objects undisguise themselves, revealing their authentic essence as an integral, but often overlooked, part of the human experience. Objects quietly carry imprints of our stories, memories, and burdens as they traverse our lives. Through meditation and profound empathy, Yvette reweaves the narratives, crafting a mesmerizing visual poetry that beckons contemplation. Her metamorphosed artefacts possess a blend of archaeological intrigue and personal resonance. The narratives are specific to the object themselves, but a shared experience is invoked, inviting us to forge a deeper bond with our belongings, ourselves, and one another.
