Lives and works in California, USA & Jalisco, Mexico
Artist statement
I am an international contemporary artist, living and creating in both California and Chapala, Mexico. My life embodies a harmony of cultures and languages, reflecting my multi-cultural and multi-lingual heritage. With roots deeply intertwined with a lineage of immigrants and refugees, I proudly hold citizenship in four countries spanning three continents. My enriching experiences within these cultures have taught me that the commonalities that bind us as humans are far more powerful than the beautiful distinctions that make us unique. By striking a careful balance, we can start to imagine a world where the division of humanity into 'sub-races' is recognized as a human-made fabrication. This perspective allows us to see ourselves anew, embracing the concept that we are, at our core, one race. This profound belief has been the catalyst behind my artistic creation, InBodied Light. Dreamt in 2017, creation began in 2018, and now, 2023 I have created over 50 unique sculptures, from 2 to 7 feet tall.
