Lives and works in London, UK
Artist statement
I use film photography to explore the quiet and the kinetic between people and nature. Every image begins from my own observations—my angle, my thoughts—seeking details and viewpoints others might overlook. By shooting, developing, and scanning my films myself, I learn the craft materially and keep refining quality. Color is my pride; years of oil painting sharpened my sensitivity to tone and texture, so I work with available light to find emotion. Many of my scenes sit by water—pools, riverbanks, bathtubs—where bodies reveal unguarded gestures between pause and motion. I hope viewers meet their own memories in these intervals. Solo exhibition coming — Seated by Water, For years I have been drawn to spaces around water—pools, riverbanks, bathtubs. Water invites both relaxation and reflection, holding stillness and movement at once. Inspired by Georges Seurat’s Seated Nude, I use film to translate the quiet and feeling of painting into photographs. The work sits between planning and spontaneity, moving from Glasgow to Budapest to Paris like wandering along a boundary. Strict pool rules in the UK were not easy, but they trained patience and curiosity. The final images focus on people and objects by the water: expressions, gestures, and glances in moments of pause—the details that might echo a viewer’s own memories. When we simply sit by water, what drifts through the mind? How do we touch the surface? All films are self-developed and scanned. Seated by Water will travel...
