Paola Angelini

b. 1983, San Benedetto del Tronto, Italy. Lives and works in San Benedetto del Tronto, Italy. 2008 MA, Accademia di Belle Arti di Firenze, Florence.

“Paola Angelini—among wild horses, sculpted statues, dancers, demons, birds and dreamy human figures—develops a personal lexicon made of motifs inspired by 20th-century statuary, medieval tapestries, and the history of Italian art in general, with clear references to her unconscious, personal memories, and relationship with nature. Her stylistic code, made of cracks and homogeneity, polishness and roughness, density and dynamism, is characterized by the indissoluble bond between tangibility and vision. Her chromatic palette, which is particularly vigorous, creates an extraordinary visual tension, wavering between heritage and contemporaneity.”

Alessandro Sicioldr

Born 1990, Tuscania, Italy.

“Between technical mastery, hypnotic suggestions, and visual aulicism, the unmistakable and strongly autobiographical art of Alessandro Sicioldr oscillates incessantly between Surrealism and Symbolism, passing smoothly through Mannerism. His canvases, inhabited by enigmatic figures that populate an indefinite, almost liminal space, are nothing but the transmutation of nocturnal visions, symptomatic of moods or internal conditions, premonitions, sensations, flows of consciousness, and everything that concerns the so-called sensorial hemisphere of the unconscious. All this is wisely corroborated by the essential connivance of arcana and allegories, Eros and Thanathos, Apollonian and Dionysian.”

Gianni Caravaggio

Born 1968, Rocca San Giovanni (Chieti), Italy. Lives and works in Milan, Italy.

“Through essential lines and composite meanings, Gianni Caravaggio carries forward his theoretical reflection on the bewitching, intangible, and liturgical mystery of the process of creating a work of art in conjunction with its potential for reinterpretation and self-renewal. Through his solemn sculptural language, he adopts different formal and material solutions that elegantly synthesize the value—simultaneously allegorical and evocative—of his works. Caravaggio defines his works as “devices for demiurgic acts” because, taking into account the space-time coordinates, they are able to generate alchemical processes and perceptive illusions that play on the paradox, thus involving the bystander in a game made of boundless imagination and sensitive perception.”
