Nonzuzo Gxekwa
Born 1981 in Ladysmith, South Africa. Lives and works in Johannesburg, South Africa.
"Gxekwa is a South African photographer whose practice is concerned with noticing and capturing mundane scenes and moments in the city of Johannesburg. She documents the inhabitation of the city, black people going about their daily routines of commuting to various appointments such as work and places of religious worship. The minibus taxi features in many of her images; it is a critical pillar of the city’s public transport sector; it is also considered the servant for the majority of urban poor. For me Gxekwa's’s photography captures the lives of black people going about their business in a captivating way in a dynamic fresh eye."

Her paintings are powerful dreamscapes that present figures of woman whose faces are covered in red clay; she infuses symbols of pop-culture and esoteric knowledge. The paintings are an attempt to trace and understanding her lineage. In her work Moeti brings together an assortment of cultural references, including but not limited to her own seSotho modality."

Keneilwe Mokoena
b. 1988, Pretoria, South Africa. Lives and works in Johannesburg, South Africa.
"Mokoena's enchanting drawings, digital prints, and sculptural installations aim to dismantle learned knowledge and explore meaning and awareness about the self and the environment we occupy. The result are artworks that resemble some form of dimensional order. There’s something beautiful about her process of creating new meaning from old ideas and constantly discovering brilliant ways of interpreting information."
