Marius von Brasch

Born 1958 in Cologne, Germany. Lives and works in Rookley, UK.

2012 PhD, University of Southampton, Southampton, UK.

"I love the dynamic between restraint and exuberance in Marius von Brasch’s work. In his spare drawings, the marks tend to engage each other from a respectful distance; in his paintings, the visual elements—rendered in hyper-saturated pinks, oranges, and greens—are inclined to commingle ardently."

Ann Toebbe

Born 1974 in Cincinatti, OH. Lives and works in Chicago, IL.

2004 MFA, Yale University School of Art, New Haven, CT. 1994 BFA, Cleveland Institute of Art, Cleveland, OH.

"Ann Toebbe’s paintings take the resolutely three dimensional contents of other people’s lives and offer them to us in two dimensional space, all at once, through a process by which possessions and the spaces that contain them are flattened but rendered sublime. These works somehow remind me of my childhood wish to drive my house: maybe it’s how they are utterly self-contained but reflect the artist’s engagement with the world outside her door."

Lauren West

Born 1989 in Oxford, MS. Lives and works in Brooklyn, NY.

2017 MFA, New York Academy of Art, New York, NY. 2014 BFA, University of Mississippi, Oxford, MS.

"Temple Grandin wrote that “animals make us human”; Lauren West’s work shows us what that might mean. Although the subject matter is dead serious—mortality, impermanence, the problematics of living in culture—I love that West risks being funny, especially in an art world that can view humor with suspicion."
