Isabell Bullerschen
b. 1985. Lives and works in Zürich, Switzerland. 2017 MFA, Zürich University of the Arts. 2014 BA, Berlin University of the Arts, Berlin.
"It takes time for light to reach our eyes—sometimes a millisecond, sometimes billions of lightyears. In this sense, the light, also being a carrier of encrypted information, is always late and non-compliant to linear understandings of time. Isabell Bullerschen’s research-driven works thrive in this radiating longing for a past that never was and a future that might not arrive. Effortlessly moving between mediums, Bullerschen’s gestures are both meticulous and bewildering, even cheeky. Saturated pastel colors, plants, digital infrastructure, and perplexed wolves conflate nostalgia with anxious future-cravings, revealing the artist’s rich visual and theoretical vocabulary."

Adrienne Elise Tarver
b. 1985. Lives and works in Brooklyn, NY. 2011 MFA, School of the Art Institute of Chicago. 2007 BFA, Boston University.
"Adrienne Elise Tarver’s paintings, sculptural objects, and embroidery lure the viewer into the lush world of the natural and the mystical. Here, blurred female figures transpire from saturated environments, speaking of erasure, violence, and disappearance. In many instances, these are worlds of ominous excess, brimming over into the realm of uncanny. Installations reminiscent of foliage do not attempt to hide its artifice—they are here not to imitate, but rather to seduce and to reveal the fabricated nature of our desires. However, somewhere between somber embroidery, oil pastels, and digital photo collages lurks an invitation to explore the healing potential of this verdant excess."

Millicent Young
b. 1958. Lives and works in High Falls, NY.
"There is a theory—one of many—that the fundamental particle of our universe is actually a string and that its vibration brings everything into being. Imperceivable neither to the human eye nor to machines, the elusive string can be traced in Millicent Young’s works. However, what we are seeing is not a cold, scientific revelation—instead, by using horsehair, thread, charred cedar, lead, and other materials, Young offers a material glimpse into a quivering world that converges the mundane and the cosmic. Her subtle gestures juxtaposing curvy branches, steel bolts, and threads remind us that these fundamental particles, just like the universe itself, are both inherently melancholic and prevailing."
